This year for the safety of members, staff and board members, this will be a business meeting only. We felt that serving refreshments as in previous years would not be prudent or safe for those attending.

CEO Update June, 19, 2020

Good Afternoon E&G Membership,

I am pleased to let you know that our Hartsdale office will be opening on Monday, June 22, to in-person lobby transactions. The branch lobby schedule will resume to normal operating status.

Please, upon entering the credit union, follow the instructions on signs placed throughout the credit union to ensure member and employee safety. I wish to point out that, per state orders, all members entering the credit union will be required to wear a face covering – there will be no exceptions allowed. 

Final plans are being made to open the Mount Vernon office as soon as late next week. I will send out another communication when the date is selected.

I want to thank the entire E&G membership for their patience throughout these early stages of the pandemic. Our staff did an impressive job meeting member needs and, as essential workers, have been committed to meeting those needs by continuing their dedicated work since the pandemic started.

Together, this entire organization worked as a single team to get us through what I hope are the most challenging stages of the pandemic.

We are here for you each and everyday!

Dear Members:

It is nice to see some positive news about the regional economy slowly returning to improved operational conditions. We are actively planning to return to a more normal operating status, with in-person transactions resuming, as appropriate conditions allow. 

While an exact date has yet to be chosen, we expect to begin to allow members into our main office facility in mid-June. 
We will communicate the exact date once it is known. Our team misses our members and looks forward to seeing your (partially covered) faces again!

More importantly, we continue to help members with their borrowing needs each and everyday! 

Whether it be a need for financing a vehicle, purchasing a home, or a personal emergency, we are here to help you in a professional and prompt manner. 

Our staff has done an impressive job serving the membership under stressful circumstances these past several months, so please offer them kind words when you can – they deserve it!

I am happy to announce that, beginning in June, we will have a Facebook page that will be used to communicate with all of you on a more regular basis. You will be the first to know when it goes live so that you can “like” the page and stay informed!

Temporary Staff & Hour Changes

During this challenging time we have instituted some changes in our hours and staffing. They are as follows:

  • Mt. Vernon Staff will be serving members from our Hartsdale Office
  • Hours will be Monday-Friday 9am-4pm, we will not be open until 6pm on Thursday for now.
  • For their safety, our staff will be formed into 2 teams and work on a two day rotation.

We have taken steps to protect our employees and members by dividing our staff into two teams, each rotating on a daily basis here in Hartsdale from 9am-4pm daily. 

We appreciate your continued patience!

Our lending team continues to assist our membership with their borrowing needs. You can easily apply for a loan online at www.egefcu.com. We have recently lowered our auto loan rates to their lowest levels in almost ten years, so if you are in the market for a car, now is the time to take advantage of lower financing costs. We also offer low-cost insurance protection products for your car loan. Ask a lending team member for details.

For members who need additional loan payment relief, we are offering a skip-a-payment program. You can review the requirements, and apply online.

From the desk of the CEO-January 2020

After several months as E&G’s CEO, I am pleased to inform you that we have several new initiatives underway. These new initiatives will enhance our services to you and overall value of your membership. 

We have developed a service strategy we are referring to as “2020 Vision”, designed to build on our proud tradition of high-touch personal service, bringing you high quality service when and where you want it.  

Our credit union team has been actively pursuing a new data processing system that will allow us to serve you better, and faster. Towards the later part of 2020, we expect to provide members with progressive mobile banking services. This will make it easier than ever to do your banking 24/7, wherever you are. Also, by the end of 2020, a new and enhanced loan portal will be available to expedite your home equity, auto or personal lending needs – again, making it easier on YOU to get help from us when you need it.

I am very excited to announce that we recently partnered with GreenPath Financial Wellness, a non-profit whose mission it is to empower people to lead financially healthier lives. Through this partnership, members will be able to access a large number of financial counseling services, at little or no cost. Several FREE services include:

  • Budget Counseling – Budget overview, Action Plan, guidance 
  • Credit Report Reviews – Review credit report with member
  • Pre-Purchase Housing Counseling (HUD Approved)
  • Mortgage Delinquency Counseling
  • Rental Counseling – (Member is concerned about losing housing due to landlord/tenant issues)
