Can I Stop Payment On A Check?

image of someone writing a checkYes, you may certainly stop payment on a check, as long as the check has not yet been negotiated. There is a fee of $20 that will be charged for each stopped check.

The process is simple:

  1. Call the credit union to request that a specific check number on your account be stopped. Please also tell us the amount the check was written for and to whom. This stop is limited, held for only 10 days, until we receive written notification from you.
  2. Next you will need to provide the written notification mentioned above. Please click on the Stop Payment Form Below, complete and return it to us at your earliest convenience.

How can I add a MasterCard® debit card to my account?

To add a debit card, you will need to have a checking account with us. You can access your savings also using the debit card at an ATM but checking is required to link a debit card to our account.

You can either check off that you would like a Debit MasterCard® when opening you checking account or you can apply for one any time by completing the application CLICK HERE TO APPLY.

Please allow 7-10 business days for your MasterCard® debit card to arrive.

How do I set up automatic deposits from my employer?

If you work for one of our groups we are happy to contact the payroll department to set up the automatic deposits as per your request. If you don’t work for one of our groups or prefer to set it up yourself with payroll you will need the following information:

Your Account number (found on your statement or the card we provided you). Your should indicate if you wish the deposit to be made into your savings or checking account

You can also provide a voided check to payroll which will provide the information they need (see image below)

What happens if I overdraw my checking account?

Everyone may occasionally overdraft their checking account. We will automatically transfer enough to cover your overdraft from your savings account. There is a $3.00 charge for each occurrence.

You may also open an overdraft line of credit to cover overdrafts from your account. An application and an approved line of credit is required.

If there is insufficient funds in your savings to cover overdraft and you don’t have an overdraft line of credit then the following may happen:

a) Overdraft is paid (at discretion of the credit union) and member will pay a fee of $30.00 per occurrence.

b) Draft is returned for insufficient funds and member will pay a fee of $25.00 per occurrence.

How does E&G Checking Work?

Our checking has a minimum balance and earns interest when your average balance is $1,000 or more. Plus, there is no monthly fees or per check charges.

You may add a MasterCard® debit card to your account as well which will give you access to your checking and savings accounts at any ATM and to your checking account when used at point of sale.
